Visiting Troy

Troy has become a popular destination. Whether you are coming to explore the area's history, visit one of the City's colleges or attend a cultural event, there is plenty to see and do in The Collar City. Troy 's RiverSpark Visitor Center is a great place to become acquainted with the area, either as a visitor or new resident.

There is a verity of lodging options in Troy . Best Western Rensselaer Inn, 1800 6th Ave , 274-3210, is located downtown at the base of the stairs to the Rensselaer campus.

Franklin Square Inn & Suites, 1 4th St , 274-8800, is located downtown across the street from the Troy Town Dock & Mariana. Olde Judge Mansion , 3300 6th Ave , 274-5698, is a bed and breakfast located a few blocks north of the central downtown in an elegant historic house.

The Albany - Schenectady - Troy metropolitan area is served by rail, bus and plane. Stations for all three modes of transportation are only a few minutes from downtown Troy and are served by city bus, taxi and car rental facilities. Troy is also served by 3 navigable waterways: he Hudson River ( New York City to Troy ), the New York State Barge Canal/Erie Canal ( Troy to Buffalo ) and the Champlain Canal ( Troy to Montréal). Troy has facilities to handle everything from small cruise ships to private cruisers to fishing boats.
